A little taste of sourdough

A fun afternoon workshop with self-confessed sourdough nut Linda Nankervis.


Spend 2 hours watching Linda demonstrate all the stages of mixing, shaping, and baking fantastic sourdough bread. The afternoon will include the chance to taste some of these fantastic breads.

You will go home with a recipe, sourdough starter and a loaf ready to bulk ferment, shape and cook the next day.


What to bring with you:

1.      A small glass jar (to take your starter home in). 250mls is a good size. Choose one with a nice wide mouth to make mixing easy.

2.      A 2-litre mixing bowl.

3.      An apron


Over the afternoon Linda will show you how to mix a loaf, maximise gluten development, preparing a dough for bulk ferment, and shape a loaf for final proving and baking. We will talk about how to use equipment you have at home, managing different flours and keeping your starter healthy.

Using a pre-prepared dough Linda will demonstrate her favourite baking techniques and discuss how to get a terrific crust and crumb in your finished bakes.
